Pinch Pot Jar Clay Workshop – Make a cute shaped jar out of clay! Ages 6+

1.5 – 2 hours. Ages 6+. Clay handbuilding.

Start with a lump of clay then pinch pinch pinch and voila! A jar for you to use.

Join TDBA in this workshop to make your very own shaped jar using the pinch-pot method to create your base and lid. You’ll be with an instructor to help you along the way and to get ideas on what kinds of shapes you can turn your jar into! Ages 6+ (guests ages 6-8 will need a person age 15 or up with them).

Since it’s fall, maybe you’d like to create a jar in the shape of a pumpkin, mushroom, acorn, a leaf, or anything else your heart desires! Our artists are here to help you realize your vision.

You will paint your jars the same day you make them – nice! We’ll spend about 30-45 minutes creating our pieces and then the rest of the time is set for painting (so you might get done a little earlier than the class says). 

Your pieces will be fired in the kiln and then ready to pick up in about 10-14 days – and then they’ll be glossy, smooth, and waterproof! (So feel free to store sugar or candy or knick-knacks in these. Really, whatever you’d like.)
