Sculpt Your Pet! – Make Your Pet out of Clay

• Ages 15+, clay sculpting and painting.

Learn how to turn your pet into a ceramic sculpture!

We’ll take photographs of your pet, study them, and use clay handbuilding techniques in order to make them into a beautiful sculpture that will last forever. 

Sculpt during the first class, then paint your sculpture on the second class. 

Learn how to turn a photograph into a 3D object, how to create form, and how to texture your pieces to look like your pet.

This class also works for any animal, so feel free to think about your favorite creature as well as your beloved fur friends!

Please send us up to 3 pictures of the same animal before 6/28 – a picture from the front, from the side, and from the back is most helpful. We will print these out for your reference to use while sculpting. We encourage you to have other pictures ready on your phone, and feel free to bring other images that will help you.

All supplies included. Wear some “art” clothes and be prepared to get creative! You’re welcome to bring snacks to the sculpting session.
We encourage guests to bring items for texturing, sculpting, and sketching, if you’d like!

2 sessions –  

• The 1st session, 6/30 11am-3pm is 4 hours of clay sculpting. We’ll start and finish the sculpting, then you’ll leave your projects to be fired at the studio. 
• The 2nd session, 7/14, 11am is optional for painting at the studio. Come at 11am and stay until you’re done painting. An instructor will get you started and answer questions. Glazed pieces will be left at the studio for 1 more firing, and will be waterproof (good for outdoor placement). Acrylic-painted pieces can be taken home the same day, but are not waterproof.
